Rehabilitation aids for children from Belarus
An initiative of the teachers and students of the Georg-Büchner-Gymnasium in Düsseldorf
In the Lithuanian city of Druskininkai - a small health resort on the Memel - there is a Belarusian sanatorium called "Belorus". The sanatorium was built at the time of the Soviet Union, so that today it is on Lithuanian soil, but belongs to the Belarusian state.
Up to 4000 sick Belarusian children are treated in this rehabilitation clinic every year. Many of them come from areas that are still affected by the Chernobyl disaster.
The following film (length: 5,5 min.) Shows some pictures of the stay in the sanatorium - accompanied by a song that the children composed themselves.
